Our new Star goes online

The new SV-38R CNC sliding head lathe from Star makes a major contribution to the modernisation and optimisation of the machinery of the HABEGGER Maschinenfabrik AG company. This lathe with a diameter range of up to 40mm allows simultaneous machining with a freely programmable 10-station turret and a linear slide on the main spindle. That not only gives HABEGGER new opportunities in the production of its own parts but also makes HABEGGER an interesting partner for contract manufacture thanks to shorter production times and high automation.

The SV-38R CNC sliding head lathe turns night into day. The universal turning and milling machine can continue to run and produce items without manpower during the night hours. A feeder with 18 bars delivers the required replenishment. That substantially increases the output volume of HABEGGER AG and makes the unit prices for the individual items cheaper. Furthermore, the scope for the manufacture of specific small parts within a diameter range of 7mm to 40mm is almost unlimited.

Some technical details for the experts among the readers: The SV-38R allows simultaneous machining with a 10-station turret, a linear slide with 5 tools on the main spindle and 8 tools for back working with X2 and Y2 axes which are completely independent of each other.
